Jacob and the other kids were planning on what to do next. Since Miss Peregrine can not turn back into her human form. " I asked Emma how were going to navigate. After all, none of the children had been off the island in nearly eighty years, and Miss Peregrine couldn't speak or fly." Jacob is trying to take charge of the situation.

Jacob and Emma went to go look for the map in the house. While looking for the map Jacob and Emma found some things that could help Millard. "On our way out, we found alcohol and Laudanum and proper bandages for Millard. Once we'd helped clean and dress his wound, we sat down to examine the book. Here Jacob is thinking about others.

Is it true? Yes it is. Jacob has decided to stay with Miss Peregrines and the children. There might not be a way for him to go back so is he sure he wants to stay? "Well then," I said, "it's a good thing i'm coming with you." Emma spun to look at me. "Oh, that's wonderful!" she cried, and hugged me. "Are you certain?" I told her I was." In here Jacob is being certain. He knows whats best for him and the children.

Its time to say goodbye? Jacob went back to tell his dad the truth but he wasn't there. So Jacob sat down with a pen and paper explaining everything but it was no good. Just when Jacob was throwing away the letter his father came in.  His dad was furious that Jacob had lied to him. He wanted to go home and he told Jacob to pack his bag. Jacob is very nervous in this situation because he's not sure how his dad is going to react.

Emma, Olive and Millard all showed up to help Jacob. His father believe that the whole thing was a dream and went back to bed. Jacob felt bad to leave his dad like that. A letter with no proof what so ever. Luckily Emma had proof. A picture of her and Abe. She also wrote a letter to Jacobs father. When she was done Jacob was ready to live his parents. "When she finished writing, she gave it to me. I looked at both sides and then fished my letter from the trash, smoothed it, and left it on the table with the photo.
" Ready to go?" I said
My friends were standing in the doorway, waiting for me.
"Only if you are," Emma replied.
